This past Sunday was our last Sunday at AJ First. Many people gave us cards, gifts, and words of encouragement. We are so very appreciative of all the love and support we felt from all the great people at AJ First. You will all be missed!
Out of all our gifts, my favorite gift was this, two individual $1 bills.

One of the seniors of the church stopped my wife in the lobby to thank our family for our ministry at AJ First. Knowing that we may indeed need to move, she said this, “I know it costs a lot to move your family, I have a couple of dollars to help with your move.” She proceeds to literally give us two $1 bills.
It was a small gift, but it probably means more to me than any other gift we received. It was all the money she had in her purse…and she gave it to us to help in our situation.
It reminds me of this great story in the Bible:
Luke 21:1-4 (ESV) Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
