i.miss.the.office.(.not.the.one.on.nbc.)

Yesterday, for the first time in a very long time, I spent the entire day in the office (at Glendale Nazarene Church). From first thing in the morning until around 8:30 in the evening.

…and I completely LOVED every second of the day!

BTW, thank you, Jesus for yesterday…seriously, thank You!

I was reminded just how much I love being a part of what God has called me to do and be.

I’m only part-time at this church, so I’m not here in the office a lot, but being there for a full day makes me miss, so very much, being full-time in ministry. It renewed my desire to be back in the saddle full-time. I really simply can not wait for God to reopen that door in my life.

I hope and pray that He does this sooner—rather than later.

My wife LOVES books.

Books are her passion!

She is always…ALWAYS reading a book.

She would love nothing more than to work in the world of books.

So, I’m asking if you’d join with me in praying that God would open a door for her to do just that, find a job in the world of books.

i.had.a.dream

Last night I had a very vivid dream…one of those when you wake up that seam real, like it really happened.

We had been hired by a large church…somewhere…that part of the dream wasn’t vivid. We were arriving for our staff/welcome gathering. I was NOT the lead worship director, as I clearly remember meeting him, he had red hair and was wearing a Taylor T5 when we met in the hall way (weird huh?). In fact, I was one of several members of the worship staff at this great church. I was so excited to be on a large staff of music directors and could not wait to get started in this new ministry position…

…yeah, then I woke up.

Spending the day today at Starbucks looking for a new ministry position.

dreaming.of.this.today

We’ve had an extremely HOT summer here in PHX this year. We’ve set a new record for the number of days OVER 110°! Many of those days were over 115°.

So, today I find myself dreaming of this…

If I could go anywhere right now, this is the place I’d choose. Laguna Beach, CA. I wonder if I could work out a deal with Pastor James to let me call this beach my office and work from here during the week and then just fly me in to lead worship on the weekends? Hmmmm…how can I talk him into seeing this as a win for him? Suggestions???
