The other night my wife and I went to see a movie. It’s our thing, we love going to movies, and we’d go a lot more often if we had the time…oh yeah, and the money. $$

We were both struck by this mother, daughter and two other teenage friends…

They were sitting in the row in front of us (in a rather empty theatre) – no one was sitting to their right, two couples were sitting to their left. These girls (and the mother) must have went in and out at least 8 times before the movie started…and NOT ONCE did they say excuse me to the couples sitting to their left as they continued to just walk right in front of them, once even almost stoping right in front of them to laugh, hug, and tell stories.

Did I mention that there was no one sitting to their right???

I almost leaned forward to say, “excuse me” for these girls…even though I didn’t know them.

It made my wife and I make a mental note to chat with our kids and make sure they are polite…not rude…when they’re in public settings and use the phrase, excuse me, when it’s needed.
